Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that Florida will be moving into a second phase of reopening. The order will take effect today, Friday June 5th.
Governor DeSantis made his announcement at Universal Orlando Resort, which opened to passholders on Wednesday and Thursday, and opened to the public today.
The phase two reopening does not include Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, which has had the highest concentration of CoVid-19 cases in the state. In Florida’s other 64 counties, restaurants can now seat people at a bar, and bars and pubs can open at 50% capacity with mandatory social distancing. He added, “You’re seated to get served. People go, enjoy, have a drink, that’s fine, but we don’t want huge crowds piling in.”
Here in Naples the beaches are re-opening as well. Let’s see if the public does a better job at following the regulations this time so that we can all enjoy one of our most beautiful natural treasures.
Retail establishments may operate at full capacity, movie theaters and bowling alleys can open at 50% capacity. Florida previously allowed restaurants and retail shops to open at 25% capacity on May 4 and expanded that later in the month.
At Coldwell Banker we are still being asked to continue to work at home unless it is essential to come into the office. We are still operating with less staff, and although we began holding floor duty on the 1st, it is mandatory that our agents wear masks, and suggested the public also wear a mask when entering our building.
